Abstract
У статті розглядаються історичні періоди розвитку вищої педагогічної освіти в США. Система педагогічної освіти США постійно перебуває в центрі уваги не лише уряду, а й громадськості. Проведене дослідження науково-літературних джерел дало змогу відобразити ретроспективний процес зародження й розвитку педагогічної освіти США, у межах якої розвивалася підготовка вчителів початкової школи, а також виокремити шість етапів її становлення. Унаслідок проведених реформ, система вищої педагогічної освіти США підтвердила своє домінування на світовому освітньому просторі. Аналіз процесу становлення й розвитку вищої педагогічної освіти в США дав змогу виокремити аспекти, які впливають на розроблення освітніх програм підготовки вчителів початкової школи.
The article examines the historical periods of development of higher pedagogical education in the United States. The US teacher education system is constantly in the spotlight not only of the government but also of the public. The study of scientific and literary sources allowed to reflect the retrospective process of origin and development of pedagogical education in the United States, which developed the training of primary school teachers, as well as to identify six stages of its formation. As a result of the reforms, the US system of higher pedagogical education has confirmed its dominance in the global educational space. Analysis of the process of formation and development of higher pedagogical education in the United States has identified aspects that affect the development of educational programs for primary school teachers. Recent years have seen the expansion of the university sector in the American teacher training system. A striking example is that today most universities have training programs for primary school teachers (previously these programs were implemented only on the basis of teachers' and humanities colleges). This is primarily due to raising the requirements of the state, society and professional pedagogical associations to the level of fundamental teacher training in the field of general and specialized subject education. In university pedagogical colleges, teacher training is organized at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels, while in other types of colleges the highest level of training is master's. At the present stage of development of pedagogical education there is a noticeable tendency to active use of digital technologies in primary school, recognized the need for primary school teachers to introduce innovative teaching methods, which necessitates constant updating of their professional functions and content in higher education.
