Осмислення ідей Якова Чепіги в контексті сучасних педагогічних реалій

Abstract
У статті описано багатовекторну діяльність Я. Чепіги, зокрема описано погляди педагога на змістовний аспект у навчанні учнів початкової, основної та старшої школи. Дослідник вважав за потрібне вже в ранньому віці опановувати історію задля формування інтересу до минулого й сучасного соціально-економічного життя народу, що є одним із духовних критеріїв формування гармонійно розвиненої особистості в суспільстві. На уроках природознавства учений радить спостерігати за природою, її явищами, викликати інтерес і захопленість учнів гармонією, красою довкілля, активізувати в них бажання пізнавати рослинний і тваринний світ, історичну привабливість місцевості, особливості клімату тощо. Зазначено, що вивчення основ математики (арифметики) в початковій школі, – це передусім формування уявлень про число, розвиток логічного мислення. Розкрито сутність взаємозв’язку знання рідної мови, національного і загального розвитку дитини, оскільки, на думку Я. Чепіги, саме за допомогою мови рідного народу стають доступними учням соціо-культурні, правові, мистецько-побутові традиції.
The article establishes that the most important contribution in the educational and research heritage of Yakov Chepiga is prudent and fruitful work for establishment and development of primary school – an important sector in the system of Ukrainian secondary education. It was found out that the issues of education of primary school age children became the core in the works of Yakov Chepiga “National upbringing”, “Physical upbringing”, “Moral compulsion in upbringing”, “Attention and intellectual development of a child” and others. The leading trend in primary school according to Ya. Chepiga is national upbringing based on the natural abilities and inclinations of a child. There was stated about creation of primer “Veselka” and reader “Veselka. The first book after primer”; the content of these books was built on the basis of analytical and synthetic method in order to: providing possibility for 7-8-years-old children for free and effortless mastering of reading and writing; promoting development of self-sustainability; facilitating the work of a teacher during conducting lessons with several groups. The article describes multi-pronged activity of Ya. Chepiga, namely there is description of educationalist’s views on to content aspect in teaching pupils of primary, secondary and high school. The researcher believed that it is necessary to start mastering history at junior age in order to develop interest to the past and modern socio-economic life of people, which is one of spiritual criteria for shaping of harmoniously developed personality in society. The scientist advices to use during the lessons of Nature Study observation the nature, natural phenomena, raising interest and excitement of pupils by the harmony and beauty of environment, activation their desire to explore flora and fauna, historical attractiveness of the neighborhood, peculiarities of the climate etc. It is stated that the process of mastering of basics of mathematics (arithmetic) at primary school is first of all formation of understandings about number, development of logical mind. The essence of correlation between knowledge of native language and national and general development of a child was revealed; as, from the point of view of Ya. Chepiga, it is language of native people that makes social, cultural, legal, artistic and household traditions accessible for pupils.
