The concept “American Dream” has a complex and controversial nature. It is made up of the constituents of both positive and negative axiological character, some of them greatly depend on the context of their usage. While many songs and artists promote the positive aspects of it, there are also those, who point to some negative sides of the American life and the highly overestimated idea of the American dream. After living for some time in an “idealized” country, people become disillusioned with what is, in fact, highly exaggerated. That is why it can be observed in American songs, because the performers convey the thoughts of the people.uk_UA
