Teaching the astronomy fundamentals in secondary education institutions in the frames of “Science” subject

Abstract

Teaching the astronomy in secondary education institutions in Ukraine in recent years has been carried out mainly within the framework of integrated courses. This approach is well known and well developed in the world educational practice. Thus, in a number of countries of the world, the fundamentals of astronomy are studied within the framework of the “Science” subject, which, along with the integrated courses of “Physics and astronomy” and “Natural sciences”, is being introduced today into the educational process in a number of secondary education institutions in Ukraine. Taking into account that the teaching of integrated courses of the natural cycle of academic disciplines for Ukrainian teachers is a kind of challenge, it is necessary to conduct a detailed analysis of the best world experience in this area.

Викладання астрономії у закладах середньої освіти в Україні в останні роки здійснюється переважно в рамках інтегрованих курсів. Такий підхід є загальновідомим та добре відпрацьованим у світовій навчальній практиці. Так у низці країн світу основи астрономії вивчаються у рамках предмету “Science”, який поряд із інтегрованими курсами “Фізика і астрономія” та “Природничі науки” запроваджується сьогодні у навчальний процес у ряді закладів середньої освіти України. Зважаючи на те, що викладання інтегрованих курсів природничого циклу навчальних дисциплін для українських педагогів є своєрідним викликом, то необхідним вважається проведення детального аналізу передового світового досвіду у цій сфері.
