Структурно-семантична специфіка еліптичних речень у прозових творах Володимира Лиса

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано структурно-стилістичні можливості еліптичних речень у художньому тексті. Окреслено коло значень, виражених за допомогою еліптичних речень. Указано на особливості творення експресивного ефекту за допомогою еліптичних структур. Матеріалом для аналізу слугували романи «Соло для Соломії» та «Графиня» Володимира Лиса.

В статье проанализированы структурно-стилистические возможности эллиптических предложений в художественном тексте. Очерчен круг значений, выраженных с помощью эллиптических предложений. Указано на особенности создания экспрессивного эффекта с помощью эллиптических структур. Материалом для анализа послужили романы «Соло для Соломии» и «Графиня» Владимира Лиса.

The article analyzes the structural-stylistic possibilities of elliptic sentences in the artistic text. The range of values expressed by means of elliptic sentences is described. The peculiarities of the creation of the expressive effect are specified. The material for the analysis is the novels "Solo dlya Solomii" and "Hrafynya" by Volodymyr Lуs. The question of the syntactic nature of abbreviated, incomplete sentences is controversial: some scholars associate them with independent sentences, others – with elliptic ones. The study of the language saving tools has just become relevant. Modern scholars still do not have a common view on the nature of this linguistic phenomenon. So, nowadays the problem of the non-verbal structure in the syntax is still far from its solution. The study of the ellipse has a long and rich tradition, which has its roots in antiquity, where it was understood as a speech defect. A special blessing "ellipsology" dates back to the 19th century, where the original and modern linguistic approaches to its study were formally logical, grammatical and psychological. Despite this, there is still no single and consistent definition of the ellipse. The purpose of the paper is to find out the semantic structure and determine the stylistic potential of elliptic constructions in the prose works of V. Lуs. The main tasks are: 1) to identify the most common types of elliptical sentences in the artistic text, in particular, in the creative works of V. Lys; 2) to determine the main stylistic functions of the elliptic sentences in the language contexts of the writer's artistic prose; 3) to find out the peculiarities of creating an expressive effect using elliptic structures. The object of the study is elliptical constructions in the novels of Volodymyr Lуs. The subject of the study is to determine the lingo-stylistic features of the elliptic constructions in the prose works of Volodymyr Lуs. The tendency to save language means is a universal process that determines the development and functioning of the language. Due to the needs of thinking and communication there is the desire to express the diversity of the objective world more economically and sufficiently. The criterion for the utterance of the statement is the ratio between the amount of the information transmitted and the expenditure spent on it by the linguistic (speech) means. The abbreviation of the statement increases its information volume, and the wealth of the means of saving in various stylistic groups conveys emotional and stylistic-semantic shades. We focus our attention on the functional-stylistic capabilities of the elliptic constructions in the prose works by Volodymyr Lуs and on the peculiarities of creating an expressive effect through such structures. Our analysis of the illustrative material showed that artistic texts are full of elliptic sentences, the peculiarity of which is the omission of the main or minor members of the sentence in order to show a higher degree of emotionality, dynamism and artistic expression. The prospect of further research is seen in the detailed analysis of the typological characteristics of the ellipse in the prose of Volodymyr Lys.
