Abstract
У статті розглянуто методичні особливості активізації навичок спілкування студентів англійською мовою засобами візуалізації. Увагу закцентовано на вивченні дисципліни «Іноземна мова» на першому-другому курсах вищого навчального закладу. На основі аналізу існуючих досліджень та публікацій із означеної проблеми виявлено несистематичне звертання до різних засобів наочності. Викладачі використовують переважно традиційні засоби наочності – малюнки, фотографії, рисунки, слайди. Також запропоновано новітні способи – інфографіка, скрайбінг. Практикою викладання доведено ефективність застосування різних засобів наочності за умови систематичності, комплексності, урахування рівня мовної підготовки студентів, різноманітності демонстрації ілюстративних матеріалів.
The article is directed to observe the methodical peculiarities of communication skills of students in the institution of higher education. It is proposed to intensify communication skills in English language of the first-year and second-year students by means of visualization. The centre of attention is the study of the discipline «Foreign language». It is analyzed existing researchers and publications on the definite problem. It is revealed not systematical using of various means of visualization. Systematical exercises help lectures to use visualization with more effective practical results. It is need to make use of visualization during different studies stages. Only in such a way demonstration of illustrating materials will be efficient. Using of means of visualization must be complex too. Visualization helps lectures to optimize mastering in different aspects of foreign language. Illustrating materials help to master in English for professional aims too. Complex usage of various means of visualization forms social and linguistic competence of students. Lectures use mainly traditional means of visualization. There are pictures, photographs, illustrations, slides. Some teachers offer new means such as infographics and scribing. Infographics combines schematic and illustrative representation of grammatical and lexical phenomena. Infographics helps students to concentrate their attention on the definite theme. Thanks to this mean of visualization students can memorize complicated concepts and descriptions quicker than usually. Scribing accompanies lecturer’s explanations with simple pictures, charts and cartoons. During the process of getting information students can concentrate on the main problems of the theme. Critical mentality of students intensifies due to simultaneous getting of verbal and visual information. On the practical courses students execute different tasks. There are picture’s description, answer the questions, making up the sentences or the story, making up the dialogue, interchange of opinions, and story with using of some visualization. Students execute tasks autonomously, in pairs, and in micro groups. Different tasks help students to high their study motivation. They take English language as a mean of communication.
