У статті висвітлено основні форми й методи вокально-хорової підготовки вчителів музики у вітчизняних музичних і педагогічних навчальних закладах кінця ХІХ- першої половини ХХ століть, проведено критичний аналіз нагромаджений у цій галузі науково-методичного та практичного досвіду. The basic forms and methods of vocal and choral preparation of music teachers at national musical and pedagogical educational establishments at the end of the 19th the first half of the 20th centuries are shown in the article, a review of methodological and practical experience accumulated in this industry is given. In the process of creating curricula and programs for musical-pedagogical departments and faculties of pedagogical universities (institutions), the question of different periods was how to ensure the highest efficiency and quality of professional training, which should be the ratio of the general fundamental cycle and professional (musical) subjects, how to make education appropriate, optimal and interesting for students? In solving these problems, the complexity of the practical activity of the school music teacher was taken into account, which determined the content of his/her professional training at the higher educational institution. The issue of the professional activity of a music teacher is within the framework of the problems which pedagogical science is solving today. The level of education and spiritual culture of students largely depends on a modern music teacher, if he will take into account the requirements set before him by society, by the advanced theory and practice of pedagogical education.
