The problem is relevant because the definition and analysis of the specifics of the organization of the personal and professional development of future teachers of physical education in pedagogical universities of Ukraine (end of the 20th - beginning of the 21st century) and the search for ways to further improve and modernize this process in the directions of ensuring cognitive, motivational and value , activity-communicative,personal-behavioral and reflexive components enable more successful training of future teachers at the functional level in modern conditions. Attention is focused on the need for a harmonious combination of the main scientific principles of pedagogy with the practice of personal and professional development of the future teacher of physical culture: professional, general pedagogical and personal. The categorical apparatus, scientific novelty and practical significance of the research are determined.
