Формування смисложиттєвих цінностей студентів бакалаврату в США

Abstract

У статті висвітлено змістові особливості освітнього процесу з формування смисложиттєвих цінностей студентів бакалаврату у закладах вищої освіти США. Наголошено, що американський освітній досвід містить соціокультурний потенціал для України, розкриваючи можливість впровадження нових методологічних стратегій у формуванні ціннісно-смислової сфери особистості у вітчизняній вищій школі. Акцентовано увагу, що в системі загальної підготовки у закладах вищої освіти США наявні навчальні курси, зорієнтовані на формування смисложиттєвих цінностей студентів як основи у процесі досягнення життєвого та професійного самовизначення.

The purpose of the article is to highlight the substantive specifics of the educational process for the formation of values of meaning in life of undergraduate students in the US higher education institutions. It is noted that the American educational experience contains the sociocultural potential for Ukraine, revealing the possibility of introducing new methodological strategies in the formation of the values and meaning of life sphere of personality in the national higher education institutions. The methodology of the research is based on: the analysis of the US scholarly and pedagogical literature on the problem under study, with elements of induction and deduction to characterize the state of its development in the USA; generalization of the American pedagogical experience in the formation of undergraduate students’ values of meaning in life; monographic method – for interpreting the results in the coherent logical perspective. The originality of the research lies in the fact that for the first time in the Ukrainian pedagogical science, the content of courses aimed at the formation of students' values of meaning in life in the US general education is considered. In the system of general education of the US higher education institutions, there are available courses focused on the formation of students' values of meaning in life as the basis in the process of achieving life and professional self-determination by: engaging in educational and cognitive activities aimed at familiarizing students with the socio-cultural knowledge accumulated by humanity in the search for meaning in life; students' awareness of the universal values that serve as the regulatory basis for communication and behavior in society and help to understand themselves, determine their place and role in society, adequately assess opportunities for self-realization and self-enhancement; the accumulation, integration and active translation of personally and socially significant knowledge and experience, as well as the development of skills that ensure the successful life of a person.
