|dc.description.abstract||The thesis deals with the problems of improving of future journalists` vocational training by means of formation of sociocultural competence. In our understanding socio-cultural competence of journalists – is their ability to actualize acquired in the process of training knowledge and skills (knowledge of the diversity of cultures, the ability to detect and single out cultural differences, to understand the differences between native and different cultures, to adjust their behavior) for intercultural communication during the solution of specific professional tasks. Intercultural communication is defined as process of exchange of views in situation of intercourse between different cultures. Preparedness for Intercultural Communication is interpreted as internal ability of individual to manage key features of intercultural communication to effectively conduct communion and cooperation, adapting behavior in different cultural contexts.
Socio-cultural competence of journalists is a complex of key competences (acmeological, axiological, analytical, anthropological, hermeneutical, diagnostic, research, interactional, communicative, predictive and reflexive). The complex of key competences allows to determine the criteria for formation of sociocultural competence, characterized by certain factors: motivation, value, cognitive, active, reflective criterion and criterion of sociability.
The concept of «sociocultural competence» is detalised; theoretical aspects of the formation of sociocultural competence in the context of contemporary multicultural education and vocational training of journalists are grounded; aspects of intercultural communication are identified; the conceptual framework is clarified and teaching conditions for the formation of sociocultural competence of future journalists are identified, justified and experimentally validated; pedagogical model of formation of sociocultural competence of future journalists in the process of vocational training is developed.
Formation of sociocultural competence of future journalists will be successfully provided under the following conditions: a phased modernization of training aimed at the developing of professional and sociocultural competence of journalists; systematic use of the following principles in all phases of education: consciousness and activity, individualization, accessibility, systematic sequence, availability in combination with competence and sociocultural approaches; targeted improvement of methods and technologies for the training of future journalists, including application of technologies of critical thinking development and projects method combined with algorithmized methodology that takes into account professional orientation of students; orientation of the educational process to the development of students’ understanding and respect for differences between native and different cultures; awareness of the importance of cultural diversity, tolerance to different culture, developing of students’ abilities to use foreign language to enrich their professional knowledge, while working with the professional literature, familiarization with the texts of foreign media and development of interaction skills with different cultures; design of new textbooks and manuals.
Proposed model of formation of sociocultural competence of future journalists reflects expanded in time educational process of university vocational training. The model consists of functionally related purpose, content, operating, control blocks and displays: the conceptual foundations of forming of sociocultural competence of future journalists, the main trends in the content of training, the nature of interaction between the subjects of educational activity, specificity of university educational process.
Organised according to the following model training requires appropriate changes in the functioning of educational systems to combine the creative efforts of teaching staff and scientists in shaping sociocultural competence of future journalists. The problem-solving method promotes ability to think critically, to apply skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation of new material, to interpret facts, to use the methods of information search, to lay out views accurately and clearly, to describe and analyse, to acquire knowledge about national and international political, economic, cultural, religious and social institutions, to learn the information on current events and problems of others.
A system of educational-methodological support is aimed at creation of sociocultural competence of future journalists in the process of vocational training is tested. Ways to improve the forms, methods and means of forming sociocultural competence are suggested.||
